In 2005, tourguide Apollo Panou decided it was time to take his work as a tourguide in Ghana, Togo, Benin and Burkina Faso to a more professional level. He established his own travel company in Accra with the name “Jolinaiko Eco Tours”.
Apollo is proud of his country and region and its unique mix of people and their cultures. His mission is to bring his visitors close to the people, close to their local life style in a way, that is unique and in harmony with both parties. With the tourism and volunteering actitivities of his company, he wants to contribute to local communities by using as much of the local infrastructure (food, lodging, transport, etc.) as possible. He is specialized in low-budget travel arrangements and volunteering projects in schools, hospitals and other projects in local communities.
We decided to give Jolinaiko Ecotours a boost with a new corporate identity and a website that advertises its business and is an ongoing source of new customers. Currently the site is attracting a steady amount of visitors and generates new customers as well as volunteers from Europe as well as the United States and Canada. This gives Apollo the chance to expand his business and slowly work to realizing one of his next dreams: a community-based eco-village, about which we will write at a later time.
